JOB FUNCTION: Under the direct supervision of the Care Management Supervisor, Care Management Specialists (CMS) are responsible for all matters relating to the security of employees, residents, and visitors. CMS’s are directly responsible for ensuring the continual accountability of all assigned residents and a safe and secure environment that facilitates treatment and rehabilitation. CMS supervises resident drug and alcohol testing, visitation, recreation, laundry procedures, cleaning throughout the entire agency, transportation services, and other related duties as required. Facilitates security support for other treatment programs as required. CMS’s are expected to participate in other facility activities which foster a safe and secure environment that is conducive to the goals and mission of Community Assessment and Treatment Services.
Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Demonstrates knowledge of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment & recovery, consumer engagement, healthcare, social services, and criminal justice systems;
- Skills in effective written and oral communications; ability to orally give directions, speak on the telephone, read and write reports;
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds as required;
- Skill in the use of a personal computer and related office software preferred;
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License Preferred.
- Basic understanding of crisis intervention techniques
- Ability to work independently, without supervision
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, email, and agency electronic medical record system
- Physical demands: sit for extended periods; use hands and fingers to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; frequently stand and walk; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Credentials / Academic Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of experience working cooperatively with others in a human service setting.
- Some training or experience in substance-related disorders preferred.
- CDCA preferred.
NOTE: Hourly wages are based on credentials and the selected shift.
